Five Favorite HaldeCraft HandDyed Semi-solid Yarn Colorways

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

While I love to make multi-colored yarns that invoke a particular thing, like Sock Monkey, or songs, like Golden Years and Blue Jean.... my heart is really always with the solids and semi-solids. This might have something to do with my personal obsession of knitting complicated cabled designs, in which a solid color really sets off the pattern... but that's not really what this post is about (although that does give me an idea for a Friday Five of my favorite cable patterns!). This post is about five semi-solids that are currently on my mind.      Irish Coffee -...

What are y'all working on this week? Towards the end of last week I did what's called a Rapid Log in my bullet journal, taking a page (OK; maybe two) and writing down everything I needed to remember to do that wasn't already written down in my journal, and things that were half-finished when I switched notebooks at the end of last month, and things that were just occurring to me that needed to be written down to do later that I didn't want to forget. June 2017 Yarn Club: Orange Cat

What are you working on this week? I'm trying to remember what I was doing two months ago, before I thought "hey, I wonder what it would be like to release an entire line of ceramics at once instead of just doing the set piecemeal?". Hahahahaha! But, seriously. When did summer start?! I've lost a few weeks. Last thing I remember it was, like, late March! In ceramics, I'm somewhat taking a breather after finishing the redesign and new pieces in The Marie Collection. I'm doing a number of new color test tiles, because I already have the next line...

What are you working on this week? My primary focus is dyeing yarn club, but that doesn't mean I'm not also elbow-deep in clay! In ceramics, I'm working on The Marie Collection. Most of you are already familiar with a couple of pieces in that line of work - the bowls, the yarn bowls, the mugs... but late last year when switching clay bodies, I decided I also wanted to switch colors on many of my doily-inspired pieces. I had to wait until after the holidays to get working on that, and you may have seen on social media that...
