Acorn plaque (detailed)
Acorns, for some reason, are magical to me. I have no idea why; perhaps I read a fairy tale as a child in which there was something about an acorn, or used to think Borrowers could use the caps as bowls...? I have no idea. But I love acorns, and snatched up this mold the minute I saw it.
This piece would obviously be perfect for a nature lover, an acorn collector, or just someone who appreciates different types of art (or should I say, art done differently).
This piece is open on the back and could easily be hung on the wall with a nail.

I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make are from now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio. I'm excited to have recently come into this mold, which is unfortunately not marked with the maker nor the year made. I have nothing to base this on but I'm guessing from other slipcasting mold research that I've done, that this might be from the 1970s.
