Whether you’re a Florida Gator fan, or an alligator fan, this little guy is going to bring a smile to your face.
This extra small alligator planter would be great for a small plant or a starter plant, and as he is hollow inside all the way down and completely glazed inside and out, he could also work as a vase.
Until recently, I'd had to rely on finding this little guy in stock in greenware at my local ceramic supply shop - I was overjoyed to find the actual mold so that I can slipcast them myself. This is the smallest of the three sizes I now have molds for, as seen in the last photograph.
He is glazed in non-toxic glazes and can be cleaned in hot soapy water or even run through the dishwasher.
HaldeCraft ceramics begin life as slip-cast, hand-built, or wheel-thrown pieces and then are painted and glazed and put out into the world, all by the hands of one person. I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make incorporate now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio with confidence, mindfulness, and joy.
