There's so much awesomeness and fun going on at the studio this week I hardly even know where to start. Here's what I'm working on...
Ceramics is definitely the theme for the week. I've made two butter dishes that will hold one-pound blocks of butter, and I'm happy with both the tops and the bases... next up is bisque firing and getting them glazed. I'm also working on my list of herbs, to make plant markers that will match the fruit and vegetable plant markers I made ... last year? I don't think it's been two years (but maybe it has... time flies!). So far my list includes pretty standard herbs like Parsley, Basil, and Mint.... but my husband, the cook, has suggested Turmeric, Rosemary, and Lemon Balm... so there should be something for a wide variety of gardens! I think my list is up to 17 herbs now.
In soap, I'm almost out of the sample soaps of my new fragrance, Wild Mint & Ivy. I'll be releasing full-sized bars of the soap in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned! I'm also working on some Sweetgrass soap, because Caitlin of String Theory Colorworks and I are putting together a little sumptin' sumptin' for people who missed out on our 15-in-2015 swag bags.
In yarn.... well, I can't even tell you the levels of Shakespearean comedy that March's club yarn has hit. I could tell you, but there's a two-drink minimum on the story and as I write this it's probably too early in the day for booze for most of us . Suffice to say that March's club yarn is almost ready... and the next round of club is written up but not yet open for purchase (but you can leave your email address on that page for a one-time notification when spots open up on March 14th). Don't forget that with the price increase late last year on some of my base yarns, the cost of club has gone up just a few dollars to accommodate that.
And in knitting, I've finally got my sky and temperature pillows started (but no photos yet). I can tell, though, that while I have the right width for a 12" pillow form, 30 days isn't going to get me 12" tall... so these might wind up being more like "six weeks" pillows instead of a month. I'll keep you posted on that when I get a picture soon...!
