Got plans a week from today - Sunday, December 4th, 2016? Want some plans? Come to GLAM (website; Facebook)
When: Sunday, Dec. 4 from 10am to 4pm
Admission: FREE!
Where: Historic GRU Operations Center, Power District,
625 SE 5th Ave. -- follow the signs from South Main Street/Depot Road
Admission is free this year, and there’s a kid’s activity area (as well as an adult activity area involving two local breweries and some food trucks).
I’m a bit nervous this year, as I’m outside again (last year it was sunny and warm but hella windy!). I have a tent, though (which didn’t blow away last year even with the wind) and I have sides to it I can zipper on if it rains (I’m afraid to check the weather forecast).
As usual…! I’ll have some yarn, although not nearly as much as at Fiber-In because it’s not a fiber-specific show, and I’ll have a lot - a LOT - of ceramics, including mugs and yarn bowls and 24 of my most popular soap fragrances (and some guest sets). Rumor has it I might also have some lip balms and hand lotions, if I can get them finished in time. What, what?! Keep an eye on social media this week as I'll be posting pictures of things as I finish them up and get them packed.
I really do love doing GLAM. This will be my sixth year, and while some vendors rotate out, a lot of the same ones show up and after this long it's like greeting old friends. Not to mention the people who stop by my booth every year to see what I have that's new!
Here’s a picture of last year’s booth….
... and the year before that...
...... and the year before that ......
......... and the year before that .........
............ and the first year I was there ............!
It’s kind of cool to see how my table evolved into a booth and how things have changed (or to see what’s stayed the same).
So, Gainesville locals.... will I see you there? How about travelling friends?
