WiP Wed (10/02/24)

In ceramics, yesterday, I had an absolutely frustrating day in the studio yesterday. I was trying to make a video of handbuilding some mugs, and everything that could go wrong, went wrong... to the point where halfway into the second mug (I was going to do five) I just put all the clay back into the bag and called it quits. As Kenny Rogers said, you got to know when to fold 'em! I kind of knew I shouldn't have been handbuilding anyway - I really needed to wind yarn - but it had been so long since I'd done it, I desperately wanted to get my hands in clay. Teach me to do what I want instead of what I know I should be doing! Sigh. I will salvage the video, though, and post it on Patreon for patrons to see (hopefully next week).

In yarn, I'll definitely have two colorways for Friday's update, and hopefully a third wound up. I've got two more colorways dyed but I'll need more time to wind them. Oh, and this Friday I'll also have a few more "Blind Date" sets to list, because I've finally gotten the rest of them wrapped up!

In Patreon, I put up a new chapter a few days ago (including the start of a scene that's been in my head since the beginning!), and I'm working on some new blog topics.

And that's really about all I've done this week. Oh! I did some work on the laser engraver (I really need to give it a name, like I call my kilns Big Geek and Little Geek, because I never know if I should call it the laser "engraver" or "cutter"). I'll have a teaser photo tomorrow. But other than that... yeah. This has not been my most productive week. It doesn't help that I've got stuff to do in Gainesville almost every day this week, which is going to take me away from the studio (hence not knowing if I'll have enough time to get that third colorway wound by Friday).

So let me live vicariously through you! Tell me what you feel most accomplished about this week. Or what's vexing you! I'll take either!
