WiP Wed (10/30/19)

It’s been a busy week, y’all, and arguably not as productive as I would like, but… sometimes you get the week you need, not the week you want.

In ceramics I’m busy slabrolling the snack trays for the upcoming HaldeCrate, and I need to get on the mugs. I’m also painting, in between steps of the slabrolling process, which means I’m getting the best of both worlds this week and having entirely too much fun.

In soap there’s not a whole lot going on. I’m working on a large custom order for someone, but not really working on any restocks - although I need to get started on what I’m going to make for GLAM pretty soon. What would you locals want to see — a full tray of Goat’s Milk soap? Or maybe two trays of soap this year, but a mix of the Goat’s Milk, Oatmeal, and maybe some of the Triple Butter base…?

In yarn I’m getting ready to dye the yarn for the HaldeCrate (should be next week, I’m just waiting for a final count) and then I’m going to test dye a skein for the February HaldeCrate (more on that in a couple of weeks). I’m also thinking about what I’d like to bring in next year, and what, if anything, should be retired to make room for new colorways.

In HaldeCrate, as I mentioned above, I’m working on a little bit of everything! Including already planning for the next Crate! There have been a number of pre-orders in the last couple of days, so if you’ve been on the fence about ordering, hoping I’d have a lot left over for general sale….? Chances are good that I will not have much left over for general sale! Perhaps some soap sets, and maybe a couple of soap dishes - maybe - but I can’t promise anything.

In Patreon, I’m working on tidying up a chapter to go up this coming Sunday. October postcards were running a little late - I try to get them out on the 20th but I just got them out yesterday. Where is October going and why is it going there so quickly?! I got Patreon yarn and Patreon ceramics out in good time this month, and then I blinked and whoa now tomorrow is the last day of the month!

In knitting, I just finished a pair of gloves in new colorway Summer Storms last night. I still need to weave in the ends, though, and who knows when I’ll get around to that, but… at least I’m mostly finished? And I’m starting a new pair of socks before Sunday, for movie knitting — we have tickets Sunday afternoon to see the new Terminator movie and y’all, I AM SO STOKED. I can not wait to see a buff, cranky, take-no-crap Linda Hamilton kick some major butt.

In other things… I’ve been getting a little gardening done lately. I got some plants for my birthday, and got them into the butterfly garden over the weekend, and was richly rewarded practically within minutes by butterflies flocking to their new flowers.

That’s about it for me this week, unless you also want to hear about errands and laundry and groceries and cat boxes, haha. How about you? What are you working on this week? What’s in your queue? How’s your hobby and craft time going? What’s taking over your brain this week?
