Good morning! Happy Wednesday!
In ceramics this week, lots of handbuilding. Y'all should see my phone, and my water bottle - they're both pretty much clay colored these days, haha. I'm working on some Snowflake pieces, firing the kiln, and trying not to overestimate what I can get done in a day.
I'm also thinking about renaming a couple of things; The Wine Collection, and the Whiskey Cups.
Apparently, advertising alcohol on some social media sites is a no-no, and even though I'm not actually advertising literal wine and literal whiskey, there are things that some places won't let me show them on their version of "shop." Shopify has partnered with a variety of places like TikTok and Pinterest to be able to cross-post my Shopify items on the TikTok shop, or the Pinterest shop, or the Facebook shop... but all of those places have anti-alcohol rules. So they don't let me show items that have alcohol names in the title. I can't show the Wine Collection items. I can't show my Vodka & OJ yarn. I can't show Champagne Sugar soap. It's frustrating, and more frustrating the more items I make with similar names!
I can hear you asking... "but don't they have a review process?" and they do. Most of them are "staffed" (and I do use that term loosely) by AI/computer algorithms, so if your title comes back with an alcohol name, it's automatically rejected when reviewed. There are no humans to apply to for mercy. If there are, they take forever. I'm currently in trouble on Facebook, and have been since early September, for putting a link to an item in my post - they accused me of trying to steal people's logins, or their credit card info (they can't tell me which, just that it might be either one) and I've been in review for that since... September 9th, I think. They said it would take four days. HAHHAHAHAH. I'm also in review for being able to sell on Pinterest at all, and TikTok at all. Gods. I'm such a troublemaker!
Anyway. What else is going on? Nothing much in soap (a small update going on) and yarn (still have some I need to rewind, why can't I have four arms).
In Patreon, Patreon itself has made a lot of changes in the last few weeks, with design on the front end and a few changes on the back end that I'm still trying to figure out what to do with.
Shop updates coming soon - I'll have an update this Friday, the 20th, and I'm shooting for another one two weeks later on Friday, November 3rd.
In the background this week as I'm painting, or working on social media, I've been watching CHiPs, which I seem to feel I watched a couple of times when at my grandparent's house but I remember virtually nothing other than motorcycles and car wrecks. LET ME TELL YOU. It is pretty much entirely motorcycles and car wrecks, and Ponch being an absolute dingleberry. Wasn't he everyone's favorite? My god, why? He hits on EVERY woman, even women he's pulling out of car wrecks (DUDE), he's constantly getting his partner in trouble, and he's smarmy as heck. I'm almost done with the first season and I don't know that I have it in me to go on to Season Two.
