Good morning and happy Wednesday! I'm starting to write this at 9:28 AM.... let's see how the morning goes re: focused vs easily distracted, and see how long it takes me to write this post! I'm having one of those weeks where .... I don't know. I'm not feeling particularly motivated, but I do feel like I'm getting a lot of stuff done. Maybe part of that is the new to-do list app I'm using? I'll talk a little bit about it at the end of the post. Meanwhile...
In ceramics this week, as usual, I want to handbuild ALL THE THINGS. I've gotten some new toys lately, and I really just wish I had one of those ... was it a Twilight Zone episode that had a watch that stopped time? But only for the person who owned the watch? I'd like one of those for just a couple of weeks - I mean, stop time, for about two weeks, and just play and play and play with clay. But! I'm taking most of my time to catch up on some glazing, both for restocks and also with an eye on GLAM in a couple of months (how is it almost December again, so quickly?!). I'm doing some detail glazing, which means I'm also listening to TV in the background while I work, and since I never watched CHiPs growing up (other than seeing an episode or two here and there)... and I am here to tell you that show does NOT hold up. I'm glad I'm just playing it in the background and not sitting trying to actually watch it!
Oh, and I had a shop update last Friday, and will have another one, hopefully, November 3rd, with a lot of stuff I'm painting now.
Yarn Club will go out today; it's been pretty humid here lately so it took about two days longer to dry than I'd expected.
Good news on the Feral Shitten Family; the last of the two kittens have been spayed, so everyone is now unable to give me more kittens. I swear, I never thought I'd be so tired of kittens!
The Shitten Family (and extended relations) have divided into two camps. Troublesome, Goblin, and Little Mama have all bonded and stay in the garage together. Big Mama, and her last two kittens, Baby Tux and Baby Void, are all bonded and live in the little Shanty Town I've put together for them right outside of my office studio. I kind of stopped naming them, so... I guess those are their names, now?
Let's see... where was I? (I just had to stop and take the dogs out and that's always just enough of a distraction to make me forget what I was doing).
Oh! My new to-do app! So, I got one of those Facebook ads a couple of weeks ago that was an app being marketed as "a to-do app for people with ADHD" and I thought... well, my doctor is still not entirely sure that my ADHD results aren't really because of my Anxiety, PTSD, and Depression (getting a four-way diagnosis all at the same time has really been a mind-blower, y'all)... BUT ANYWAY, I thought... eh, I'll take a look at it. The app is Sunsama and it turns out it's really working for me in a way that even just pen and paper haven't. I think it's the way you can move stuff from one day to another, rather than erase it or use white-out or tape other paper over it if you change the way you want to do things that week. I mean, it's more than that - it's being able to put in how long I think something will take and actually see it on a calendar, without crossing out and writing other stuff and just making the whole page look so messy in my dayplanner that I don't even want to open it any more. I'm just at the end of the two week free trial, and I'm really digging it.
OK; I think that's everything for me this week.... what about you? What are you working on?
