It has been a busy few weeks, y'all!
While I still have things I'd love to have to show off at GLAM - sort of a "coming next year" shelf - I've maxed out what I have had time to make. There are some address plaques I'm working on, both as gifts for me to give at Christmas, and that I wanted to have as samples both for GLAM and for the website, so I can start offering them for sale. They're going to be custom-order only (obviously, since I can't guess at people's address numbers in advance) and will take about six to eight weeks to allow for customer discussion and multiple firings. The ones I'm still waiting to be dry enough to get into the kiln for a bisque firing, I made... ten days ago, I think? It hasn't helped that we had about a solid week of rain in there, and everything was humid.
Don't think I'm not going to have new stuff for GLAM, though! I definitely will. I'm very happy with what I have planned for my booth this year. Some of the things will make it to the website the day or two after GLAM... I'm hoping to have a mid-week shop update on Wednesday, December 6th (you can sign up for my newsletter if you want an early heads up on that).
Other than that....? Honestly, my thoughts are already on next year; things I want to mark down and sell out of, new things I want to make, more new things I want to make, things I want to get done, places I want to travel to, and also even more new things I want to make. Did I mention new things I want to make?
I really want to thank everyone for sticking with me, the last year and a half. It's been quite a ride, and I haven't always been in the best space (multiple deaths in the family will do that to you). I appreciate those who have extended me grace, and love, and time, to figure out who I am now without any of the things I thought I was going to have, going to get, going to be, for the rest of my life. Reinventing yourself when you want to is one thing; reinventing yourself when you have no other choice is a lot different. I appreciate everyone who's stuck with me.
That's about it for me this week... in my "spare" time I'm working on renovating a dollhouse my mother built for me when I was young... watching CHiPs when I'm working on accounting and social media (y'all, it does NOT hold up... but I'm sticking with it because I've only got a season and a half to go and now that Michael Dorn has joined the cast and occasionally gets a line....? It's so weird to see him with that 70's porn 'stache, tho.
What about you? What are you up to? Have any exciting holiday plans? Anything good that you're reading or watching or listening to that you'd like to recommend? Any fun craft projects taking up your time? Do tell!
