Works-in-Progress Wednesday (01/25/17)

What are you working on this week? I have a lot I *want* to be working on, but I've gotten a slow start to the week after a great weekend packed with friends and far-flung family!

In ceramics, I'm working on both the February mug, and a new shape for the Biohazard mugs. I was hoping to have the February mugs bisque fired by now, but no such luck... I should still be on track to release them on February 3rd, but I just really wanted them done earlier than, like, the day before. Sigh. The best laid plans, right? I was also hoping to have those zipper mugs and pizza plates finished and online by Friday, but today is Wednesday and I still haven't had time to start glazing, so... again; sigh.

In soap, I'm getting the new soap wrapped, and will release it in February. I can't wait to hear what y'all think of it!

In yarn, I have some restocks to wind and get listed, and I'm testing out a new colorway for the shop, the next in my David Bowie Inspired yarns. I like the yarn itself so far, but decided to try out a new pattern I had in my head while knitting the sample up, and I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with the pattern. Of course I decide that after turning the heel on both socks, so... to rip all that out....? Sigh.

In everything else... I'm still recovering from a weekend packed with friends and family! I think I mentioned, my husband's brother and two of his sisters came in Friday (his sisters had been staying for a couple of days at the third sister's house, but they left on Friday before their parents arrived, because the parents didn't know the not-Florida kids were in town). Then at the Crafts & Drafts Open House, for which the parents were showing up for because my husband's father is a blacksmith, we surprised the parents with all their kids as an early 50th Wedding Anniversary present. When asked last year what they wanted to do for their 50th - big party, whatever - they said all they wanted was all five kids in the same place, for a meal. So we gave that to them this last weekend, in spades! They were overjoyed, and I thought the hugs (and tears) would never stop. We all spent the rest of Saturday, all of Sunday, and most of Monday together as well. The last sibling left early yesterday morning, although the parents are still here until the beginning of next week. All of this means I haven't had a lot of computer time, so I spent most of the day yesterday clearing off the displays I set up for the Open House, catching up with email, and some other online things... today I'm hoping to crank some things out in the studio! I want to work on those new knitting/crochet mugs I've been itching to redesign!

How about y'all? What are you working on this week?
