What are you working on this week? I've got a little bit of everything going on!
In ceramics, I'm doing a lot of slab-rolling this week. I think I've finally got that pizza plate thing worked out, and I'm having fun playing with - er, I mean, working with - all those wooden slump forms That Poor Man cut for me a few weeks ago. I have decided to work on some lines, and - perhaps obviously - the first line will be a Marie line. That was the doily I started with, so it seems fitting! So expect, maybe by the end of May, bowls, yarn bowls, butter dishes, mugs, tumblers, small and large square plates, small and medium sized octagonal dishes, small and large serving trays, soap dishes, and yes, pizza plates!
In soap, I'm working on wrapping everything I made last week (including a custom order that I should have out the door tomorrow), and a new soap fragrance that I'll be releasing next week (this Friday is already going to see the release of the April mug, and also the pet food bowls, so I didn't want to be too overwhelming with new things).
In yarn I'm working on test-dyeing and working up a new permanent colorway for the shop, Little Red Corvette. If all goes well I'll release that next month! But to make room for new colorways, I have to phase out some old ones... so The 50s Have Called is marked down 20% (no discount code necessary, it's been marked down on the site) for the rest of this month, or until sold out.
In other things... I'm getting ready for an open house on the 15th of this month (I do that as a private Facebook event, so if you want to come, drop me a line so I can send you an invitation), which means alternately trying to clean up the studio at the same time I'm cranking out a lot of work since I won't be able to get any work done for two or three days because I have to keep the studio clean once I get it that way (isn't it ironic? dontcha think?). I also hoped that April was going to see the end of sitting around in doctor's waiting rooms, but I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow, a chiropractic visit next Thursday, and a dentist appointment the Thursday after that. Is this what getting old is like....?!
I think that's everything for me... what about y'all? What are you working on this week? What's going on in your lives?
