Works in Progress Wednesday (06/28/16)

What are you working on this week?

In ceramics, I am doing a little bit of all three things this week - slipcasting, handbuilding, and throwing.

Remember a few months ago, when I mentioned that a large planter I'd made years ago had blown off the back deck and broken? I researched the mold for that, as it was slipcast (by someone no longer slipcasting) and was able to find a company that still makes it. It took about two months, but I finally got the mold! So I'm pouring one this week and seeing how much work it's going to be to put it together, with all the little frogs that go on it.

I'm throwing more Call Box mugs... do you want to see them in the same colors as the first ones? Different colors?

And I'm handbuilding some new Marie mugs and tumblers. I've been out for a while, unhappy with the design, and I've decided that just thinking about it is getting me nowhere and the only way to get a shape I'm happy with is to actually play with the clay.

In soap, even though I just released SueAnn's Garden, a new floral fragrance... I'm already planning the next one. This will be a masculine scent; woodsy and musky and fresh mountain air... it's very out-west, outdoorsy... the name will be "Trickster Fox" and the next 12 people who order anything from me that ships immediately, will get a sample of it. I'd love to know what you think!

In yarn, I'm working up a test skein of a limited edition colorway I'm planning for release in a couple of weeks, Cranberry Butter. I'm also getting ready to mail out the July International yarn club next week, and Domestic will go out the week after that. Spots open up for the next round of club, Sept-Nov, on Friday! Time to start getting excited about yarn, right?!

In knitting, well, like I said above, I'm working up a test skein of Cranberry Butter, and I missed working on my fingerless gloves in Changes so much now that I'm done... that I cast on a pair of socks with the yarn I've got left over. It's not quite enough for a pair of socks so I'm also using Red Red Wine as a contrasting heel/toes/cuffs combo and the whole thing just makes me so happy I don't really want to work on anything else!

I thought there was something else I was going to talk about, my newsletter or something behind the scenes or something, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. So that's it for me, then. What about you? What are you working on?
