Works-in-Progress Wednesday (07/27/16)

What are you working on this week? My focus for the week is soap, but I'm also working on ceramics as much as I can, because I have a couple of shows coming up soon.

In ceramics, I'm madly making mugs (I've been glazing thirty mugs - ten biohazard mugs, ten zipper mugs, and ten Call Box mugs) and also making fairy doors. Those are all for a show I'm doing at the end of August, Big Bang Bazaar. I'm about to throw twenty more mugs over the next couple of days that I can decorate with knitting and crochet buttons - those will be for the Florida Fiber-In, in September.

In soap, I'm also thinking ahead to September and making some new yarn and knitting needle design mugs in some fragrances I've not had in that design before. I'll release them at Fiber-In, and then list them in the shop as regular items! I'm also working on some restocks; expect those by the middle of next week.

In yarn, I have some restocks I dyed the other week that I still need to rewind and list - I keep getting pulled away in other directions. And you've probably noticed I'm teasing a new color that's coming out in August! I'm also still spinning, having used the Tour de Fleece to jumpstart a habit of sitting at the wheel for a little bit every day. I'm trying to spin about an ounce a day. I should have some new handspun to list in a couple of weeks. Oh! And I'm also reading a lot of fairy tales, doing research for the upcoming yarn club. I've got two out of the three colors picked out already...

In knitting, I'm trying to get my mojo back for my sky and temperature pillows. I'm in love with how the new temp side works, since I switched to two strands of sock yarn held together -- I had been using one strand of DK weight, averaging the temperature between the highs and lows of the day, but it just didn't really speak to me. On the other hand, I love the sky side, and how heathered it looks with a variety of sky and cloud color. So I switched to using two colors for the temperature side, one for the high and one for the low. I like it a lot better this way! I just need to remember to get my pillow forms (in the studio) and the two finished sides (in the house) into the same place so I can seam up the second pillow... so I can start on the third.

That's everything going on in the world of HaldeCraft this week... what about y'all? What are you working on?
