What are y'all working on this week? I'm up to my elbows in soap and ceramics....
In ceramics, I'm madly making things to take with me to the Big Bang Bazaar on August 27th. (Near Orlando? Come see me!) I've made baby head vases/pen cups/catch-alls, Biohazard mugs, TARDIS mugs... unfortunately I had some problems with those last two and need to make more. The good news (for y'all) on that is that I'll have some seconds/imperfects on sale soon... Sigh.
In soap, I made a LOT of soap last week, and need to get it all wrapped. That's taking a small back seat to ceramics, and I'm working on it here and there as I can this week. I'm bringing back some Halloween soaps this year, putting together a little guest set of five soaps. More on that in a couple of weeks!
In yarn, I'm getting ready to release Blue Jean in a couple of weeks. So far I'm happy with how it's working up, even if I have given myself a David Bowie earworm every time I've picked the socks up. There are worse things, though! And I'm plotting my next limited edition yarn colorway. It'll be both similar to and different from the other limited editions I've released this year....! And I'm still researching folk and fairy tales for the next yarn club. I've got two of them picked out, but haven't finalized the third yet...
In knitting, I'm searching about for a good pattern for a new pair of Sock Monkey socks. I've knit them before in Cookie A's Monkey pattern (and worn them out) and also my own Fissility pattern (and worn them out). So it's time for a new pair because Sock Monkey! I'm still thinking a chevron/ripple pattern, because the color repeats lend themselves to that very well, but... I don't know what. That's really kind of my go-to for sock patterns because that sort of pattern works well with a lot of yarns, but I've either made the ones I have three or more times or the ones I haven't made look like the ones I have. SO. I spend about 15 minutes a day looking at sock patterns on Ravelry, heh.
In other things, next week will by my 13th wedding anniversary. For Lucky Thirteen, we've just decided to go spend a few days at Walt Disney World, just about one of my favorite places. I turn into a giant five-year-old when I'm there, and at the end of the day my feet hurt from walking and my face hurts from smiling. It's my favorite! We're going Friday through Monday of next week, and that shouldn't interrupt anything shipping out by more than a day or two. I'll have my laptop with me, so I can communicate in the mornings before we head out for the day, if anything comes up and anyone needs me for anything.
That's it, that's what I'm about this week. How about y'all? What are you working on?
