March 2018 Yarn Club: Starry Night

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

Welcome to the 3rd and last installment of the Winter 2018 Yarn Club! The theme this time around is inspired by Vincent van Gogh, and this is the one I know y’all have been waiting for... Starry Night! The colorway I’ve wanted to dye since I learned to dye yarn, eleven years ago. I do not know why it took me so long (well, yes, I do; I was holding out for sparkly worsted weight yarn!) but I’m so glad I finally got around to it. If you’ve been following along on Ravelry, too, you know this may be the...

February 2018 Yarn Club: Sunflowers

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

Welcome to the 2nd installment of the Winter 2018 Yarn Club - which I actually put into the mail about four weeks ago, but you know how I like to make sure nobody gets spoiled... so I put up the posts a month later. The theme this time around is inspired by Vincent van Gogh, and you just know with how much I love flowers that Sunflowers would be in this lineup somewhere. Let's do it! Let me tell you about the 3rd and last installment of the Fall 2017 Yarn Club! The theme this time around is inspired by famous art and artists, and this last month is not only a talented woman artist, Mary Cassatt, but she captured her older sister doing something we love; the title of the painting that inspired this colorway is “Lydia Crocehting in the Garden at Marly”. You can see and read a little about it here. The majority of Cassatt’s work touches on the lives of women, both in private and public. While she’s most well-known for her...

January - March 2018 Yarn Club

Is there anything better than yarn? How about yarn that just magically shows up at your house? Limited edition, exclusive yarn in the weight of your choice, in colorways inspired by something you love? It couldn't possibly get much better than that! Or could it......? Do you love art? Love going to museums? How do you feel about Vincent van Gogh? Maybe you've loved him since the first time you saw one of his paintings in a high school art class. Or maybe you thought he was overrated then, but were blown away by the thickness of the paint and...
