The calming nature of houseplants can not be denied; they clean the air and give us something relaxing to gaze upon... not unlike the Buddha. Not to mention the meditative qualities they can impart as you routinely care for them, watering them, trimming old bits off, and talking to them. As you take care of them, they take care of you.
This pot is glazed with non-toxic glaze, can be cleaned with warm soapy water, and is appropriate for outside living (although I would consider bringing it inside in below-freezing temperatures). The inside is only glazed for the top inch or two, so that the more porous bisque helps with drainage.

HaldeCraft ceramics begin life as slip-cast, hand-built, or wheel-thrown pieces and then are painted and glazed and put out into the world, all by the hands of one person. I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make incorporate now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio with confidence, mindfulness, and joy.
