The kind of bowl that your dinner company exclaims over when you pass the rolls down the table. The kind of bowl that catches your eye in the morning light as it sits on the sideboard holding the best fruit of the season. The kind of bowl that you treasure, and hand down through the generations. Slab-rolled and impressed with a hand-crocheted doily, these pieces are then trimmed, cut, and shaped into beautiful one-of-a-kind bowls - each one is subtly different, as they are made by hand. If you, too, love both clay and yarn, this is a piece that will speak to your heart.
These bowls are glazed with non-toxic glazes, and can be washed with hot soapy water or even run through the dishwasher in order to be cleaned (although I would load them carefully, as jostling in the washer may damage them). Each one is made by hand, slab-rolled, doily-impressed, and hand-cut; while the glaze colors remain the same from firing to firing, the placement of the doily may change from bowl to bowl and your bowl may be slightly different than photographed. As they are hand-built, each one is a little bit different as far as height and weight go, but the approximate dimensions are listed below:
Approximate Height: 4 inches Approximate Size: 8 x 8 inches at lip Approximate Weight: 2 lbs
HaldeCraft ceramics begin life as slip-cast, hand-built, or wheel-thrown pieces and then are painted and glazed and put out into the world, all by the hands of one person. I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make incorporate now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio with confidence, mindfulness, and joy.
