Introducing Windling, a new luxury heavy worsted/aran yarn

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

I know, I know! SO MUCH NEW this week. This is a luxury worsted weight yarn (heavy worsted/aran) and it's a non-superwash (so feltable) British Bluefaced Leicester and Baby Alpaca. Mmmmmmm. IT'S SO FLUFFY! Windling, like I said, is a heavy worsted/aran non-superwash yarn (great for those looking for feltable yarns for soakers!) and one that I have tested out before -- in fact, I still have three of the limited edition "tester" colorways available from earlier this year. You can see everything that Windling is currently available in here.

Introducing Lynn, a standard DK weight yarn

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

Also new today, a standard DK weight yarn that was definitely the hit of the party at Fiber-In! I’m already sold out of a couple of colors but I’ll be ordering more base yarn and dyeing more just as fast as I can. The name of this base is Lynn, and she will be a standard base in the shop (meaning that I will restock her as often as possible and as I dye more I will have her in most or all standard colorways). Lynn is a DK weight yarn, a springy and soft 100% Superwash Merino that just...

Introducing Ursula (a new luxury fingering/sock yarn)

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

I have a new luxury base yarn I'd like to introduce you to; she's a stunner, but I won't have her all the time (so if you see her, and you like her...? Well, I'm just sayin').  Ursula is a fingering/sock weight yarn, a strong and shiny blend of 70% British BlueFaced Leicester (superwash), 20% Silk, and 10% Cashmere. You can see the colors I currently have in stock here.

New yarn at HaldeCraft: Moon

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

I've brought in a new luxury yarn, a sock/fingering weight 75% British BlueFaced Leicester/25% Nylon blend, called Moon. Moon comes in generous 464 yard skeins, and is on the lighter side of fingering weight. It has a very smooth feel to it, unlike some of my other plied yarns like Andre and Tiptree, so it fools the eye into thinking it's much thinner but in reality it's not that much more thin at all. If you've played around with my yarn, Zelazny, it behaves much like that when worked up.  BlueFaced Leicester (BFL) is one of my favorite yarns to...

This Week in HaldeCraft (ceramics and yarn)

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

Whether you're more into ceramics or more into yarn, I have something exciting for you this week! Of course, if (like me) you love both, you are doomed. I know I wanted to keep a number of things in this update for myself!  First off, I'm surprising you a few days early with a new yarn color I had planned for June (but it's almost June, so, happy surprise bonus color!). The new color is Blue Sun, and don't let it being right next to Afternoon Skies on the yarn page fool you... it's actually much darker, much more rich...
