Works-in-Progress Wednesday

Here's a little video for you mermaid lovers -- at this point in the process I have painted, glazed, and fired them, and am now using a new technique I've been practicing to overpaint the glaze.  After I finished this, they had to sit for 24 hours. Then they go in a regular oven, 35 minutes at 300-degrees. That bakes on the paint into the glaze, and after they cool down they are good to go! Hardly enough time to get any work done, let alone set up the camera. So this morning, I cleared off my painting station and got to work on some baby mermaids.    Previously: Wrapping soap Pouring greenware Spinning Painting mushroom plaques

Even I find this week's video tedious, and not only did I make it, but it's how I spend about 10-15 hours a week. Good luck getting through all seven minutes of me wrapping soap! Usually I'm watching TV when I'm doing this, just to have something to listen to.... but I didn't want to run afoul of the YouTube copyright police, so I had whatever I was watching on TV on mute for the duration of the video.  What you see here is seven minutes of wrapping and labeling of 12 bars out of a 72-bar set, which isn't...
